Bookish Brews is a fantasy themed coffee shop for writers, readers, and those who find solace within the pages of a good book.
The design features a custom designed font and hand-drawn illustration to add an authentic touch to the logo. The package design features additional hand-drawn custom illustrations to elevate the authenticity.
These works feature the Bookish Brews logo photoshopped onto the exterior and interior of a restaurant. Bookish Brews is a coffee and tea shop for writers, readers, and creatives. The font is custom designed in order to capture the fantasy aesthetic of the restaurant. The logo is a combination logo and additionally includes an illustration of a dragon and a mug of tea / coffee. The bevel and emboss feature was used in photoshop in order to give the letters a realistic, three-dimensional gold look.
For the interior logo, this particular place was chosen due to the open windows and ample sunlight, gold embellishments, plants, and unique seating options. Shading was added on top of the gold bevel and embossed letters in order to have it lay seamlessly on the wood. A drop shadow was added underneath the letters as well in order to make them appear as if they are not stamped into the wood but adhered gold letters.
This project features the restaurant logo previously created, Bookish Brews, photoshopped onto a tote bag. The logo is large as it is the main focus of the design of the tote bag as if it were merchandise for the company. The model is wearing muted cool colors in order to allow the tote bag to stand out; the book he is holding matches the color scheme for the Bookish Brews brand identity. A displacement map was used in order to allow the logo to lay over the folds of the bag as if it were printed. Highlights and shadows were added to match the folds.
This work expands on the Bookish Brews logo and applies it to an object and package design. The gold letters are bevel and debossed in order to give it the effect of being stamped into the coffee mug, while retaining the shininess of the gold type. A gold seal sticker with just the letter “B” from the custom designed font lays over the bag. A catchphrase “fueling imagination since 2023" was added as well, elevating the brand character. Custom drawn illustrations were added using a displacement map over the bag in order to fully expand the Bookish Brews brand identity.
