Myers’ Homemade Salsa is a rustic, farm-fresh brand inspired by my grandparents' family salsa recipe. Sold at local farmers markets, the brand captures the spirit of homemade cooking and the charm of Texas gardens– simple, bold, and made with care.
The design reflects the product’s authenticity through a hand-drawn aesthetic, symbolizing that what is handmade is homegrown. A focus on typography keeps the label clean and memorable, while a minimal color palette lets the natural warmth of the brand and the freshness of the ingredients shine through.
All illustrations were hand-drawn using Procreate. This detailed illustration of a garden and farmhouse was selected in order to give the product a down-to-earth, homemade look and feel.
This design focuses heavily on typography, aiming for a farm-fresh, homegrown feel with a rustic charm. A beige background paired with a soft blue accent contrasts well against the rich red of the salsa, creating a warm and inviting palette. Gingham and twine details add a handcrafted touch, elevating the brand and making it feel right at home on a farmers market table.
The typography and illustration draw inspiration from my Noni and Pappy, and their love of gardening. To keep the design cohesive with the hand-drawn aesthetic, I chose to illustrate them as part of the branding– tying the visuals back to the homemade, family-grown roots of the product. The result feels warm, personal, and true to the story behind the salsa.
A veggie basket was also designed to accompany the brand, further emphasizing the farmers market aesthetic and homegrown quality. The tag incorporates similar color choices, illustrations, and textural details to maintain a consistent and cohesive visual identity across all brand elements.
This sketchbook exploration documents the development of the salsa label and overall brand identity. It includes various illustration iterations and design refinements that led to the final cohesive look and feel of the Myers’ Homemade Salsa brand.
