Picky Pups is a playful, organic dog food topper designed for picky eaters. Created as a healthier alternative to using excess treats, the product is made from farm-fresh, organic ingredients that can be sprinkled on top of a dog’s regular meal to encourage healthy eating habits. The package design highlights this balance of nutrition and fun through custom illustrations and a friendly, approachable brand identity. By combining the appeal of wholesome ingredients with eye-catching visuals, Picky Pups stands out in a crowded pet care market and connects with pet parents who want mealtime to be both nourishing and joyful.
The packaging was hand-drawn in Procreate, featuring custom watercolor-inspired illustrations that emphasize the product’s wholesome, farm-to-bowl appeal. This handcrafted aesthetic, paired with a fun and approachable brand voice, reinforces the playful character of the brand while highlighting its organic roots.
This project was inspired by my two dogs, Daisy (left) and Harley (right), who also happen to be picky eaters. Their mealtime quirks sparked the idea behind Picky Pups, shaping both the concept and the playful personality of the brand. By drawing from real-life experience, the project feels both personal and authentic, rooted in the everyday challenges and joys of being a pet owner.
